West Bromwich Albion suffered another blow to their already depleated squad this morning as Jerome Thomas was issued with a further one match ban. Thomas was dismissed from the field at Plymouth Argyle for violent conduct, and had had just two of his four match ban left to serve. But at an FA hearing at Wembley this morning the 26 year old was given a further one game suspension.
This means that Thomas will now miss next weeks FA Cup replay with Reading, with the potential prize being a 6th round draw at home to Villa should they overcome Championship side Palace in their replay.
Albion had hoped that his previous good disciplinary record would count in his favour - with this being his first red card. But video evidence was enough to convince the FA that an extended ban was warranted.

True - according to the official site though they were half expecting this. Apparently the video evidence is quite clear with the contact Thomas made to the players face!
Thomas will miss the FA Cup replay now as well. A few players missing through suspension and in injury at the moment, they did well getting a point at Cardiff tonight. Good result, and back to the top of the table too.
