Koumas still on the radar for Albion

West Bromwich Albion are still hot on the heels of Jason Koumas according to sources close to the club this morning. The former Baggie is definately up for loan from Wigan Athletic, with a number of clubs reportedly showing an interest in the 30 year old midfielder. Koumas has struggled to get first team football this season, making just six starts for the Premiership club.
Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed that he is keen to add fresh faces to the Baggies squad, especially in context of the ever growing injury list. The boss had 8 (6 through injury) regular squad memebers missing for last nights 1-1 draw with Cardiff City.
From that list only Roman Bednar is expected to return this weekend, with Ishmael Miller, James Morrison, Abdoulaye Meite and Marek Cech all ruled out for further games, and Gonzalo Jara who will miss the remainder of the season with a broken metatarsal.
Both Jermome Thomas and Youssouf Mulumbu missed lastnights action through suspension. Mulumbu is available again this weekend, whilst Thomas still has 2 of his 5 match ban remaining, and is not available for selection until after Albion's FA Cup 5th round replay with Reading a week today.
Di Matteo is believed to be seeking a move for Koumas which will bring him to the Hawthorns until the end of the season, with Wigan boss Roberto Martinez confirming that Albion have made enquiries about the 30 year old welshman.
