West Bromwich Albion midfielder Borja Valero looks set to snub the Hawthorns in favour of a permanent move to La Liga side Sevilla. The 25 year old, who signed for a club record of £4.7 million in August 2008, has expressed a wish to make his stay in Spain a permanent one despite West Brom's recent promotion to the Premier League.

After an initial unsettled first season at the Hawthorns under then manager Tony Mowbray, Valero made a loan move to Spanish side Mallorca in August 2009, at the same time West Brom were making preparations for another season in the Championship after relegation in May 2008.

A successful year in La Liga has seen Valero attract interest from several clubs, including Sevilla - which appears to be his first choice move, a move which would almost certainly see him play Champions League football next season.

A royal waste of money really for all he contributed. Any one disagree?

If we can get as much as we paid i'll be happy, glad we sent him on loan as if we hadn'the loss we would have made on him would have been even more significant.

Too true. If he has impressed as much as reports in Spain seem to suggest he has then Albion should see a decent return.

If there is one player in the world who I would prefer to be snubbed by all day long it's Borja hasn't got the bottle for the English game Valero. Poor in the Prem. Undoubtably a skillfull player but like Dickos said awfull off the ball. Chuffed that we can make some money off him.
