Baggiesworld Preview: Arsenal v West Brom

West Bromwich Albion make the journey to Arsenal this afternoon in a bid to continue their fantastic start to the season. The Baggies have picked up an incredible 7 points from five games played so far against some of the toughest opposition they will meet this season. Roberto Di Matteo's men will also be spured on by their fantastic 3-1 mid week League Cup victory over Manchester City.
West Brom have doubts over both Gabriel Tamas and Jerome Thomas, who are carrying calf and groin injuries respectively. Whilst midfielder James Morrison misses out as he completes a three match suspension. Marek Cech, Joe Mattock and Ishmael Miller all miss out this afternoon through longer term injuries.
Arsenal will give late fitness tests to both Tomas Rosicky and Abou Diaby, who both carry ankle injuries, as well as Emamanuel Eboue who is suffering with knee trouble. The Gunners have Alex Song available after a one match ban, but both Cesc Fabregas and Thomas Vermaelen are not expected to return until next weekend against Chelsea.
West Bromwich Albion will be looking to end a 27 year spell since they last beat Arsenal away from home. But the Baggies have failed to win any of their last 18 away fixtures in the top flight. Their last away day victory in the Premier League came exactly two years ago today, against Middlesbrough on 27th September 2008. Albion's last victory over Arsenal was in 1983, and today they face a young Arsenal side who have netted 20 goals in their last 4 home fixtures.
