When all looked lost for 24 year old striker Luke Moore, along came Derby County to kick start his flagging career. Moore has already grabbed himself a bagful of goals at with the East Midlands club, and has impressed Rams boss Nigel Clough enough to see his loan spell extended twice already.
Moore scored again yesterday during Derby County's 2-1 defeat at Burnley, and his recent run of good form has promped Baggies boss Di Matteo to reveal that the door on his future at West Brom is far from yet closed.
The Baggies boss admits that he was disappointed in Moore's contribution last season, scoring just 4 goals in 25 starts for the West Midlands side. But his recent form has impressed Di Matteo, who insists that he was given every opportunity to show this desire at the Hawthorns before his loan move to Derby County was agreed.
Derby have recently extended Moore's loan spell by a third month, keeping him at the club until the end of December, and are rumoured to be seeking a deal to keep him for the remainder of the the season during the January transfer window. But if the young striker continues to impress he could see himself back at the Hawthorns as Di Matteo looks to give himself further striking options, especially with this weeks exit of Roman Bednar to Leicester City on loan.
