Meite inspired by Hodgson arrival

The change in managerial staff at the Hawthorns seems to have had a positive effect, even though the new gaffer Roy Hodgson still awaits his first three points as Baggies boss.  Defender Abdoulaye Meite has certainly been given a massive boost by the arrival of the ex Liverpool boss, who included the 30 year old defender in his starting line up for Monday's game against Stoke.

Meite was a real surprise inclusion during the Stoke City clash, which gained Albion their third successive draw.  The other shock starter was goal keeper Scott Carson, who became the fall guy for Albion's turn of fortunes even before the depature of Di Matteo was on the cards.

Meite however, had been largely ignored by Roberto Di Matteo since his arrival at the club, and the defender had more than once been linked with a move away from the Hawthorns.  But his fellow team mates have revealed the new lease of life Meite received after Hodgson's arrival - and he was highly praised by Baggies fans at the end of the game.
