Super Bob Set For Tamworth Switch

Albion legend Bob Taylor is set to join Mark Cooper's Tamworth. Taylor was released last season from Division Three (League Two) side Cheltenham after being sidelined for many games due to injury

Tamworth manager Mark Cooper said "It would be a tremendous coup and a massive boost for the club if we could pull this off,"

"Bob came down to the friendly against Walsall on Tuesday night and was introduced to the first team squad.

"The lads couldn't believe their eyes when he walked into the dressing room but they soon gave him a rendition of 'Super Bob'.

"It all came out of the blue. I was checking the PFA list of players who had been released and my eyes almost popped out when I saw Bob's name on it.

"I'm not worried about his age. His experience and knowledge of the game would be priceless to my other strikers."

Taylor broke the Baggies post-war goalscoring records after scoring 131 goals in a total of 256 league starts during two spells at the club.
