West Brom 1-2 Charlton

Another Albion home game, another poor performance, turns into another Albion defeat. A poor first half performance sees Albion without a win in 5 games.

It all started to go wrong when the teams were read out, Johnson, Wallwork and Campbell were starting, some booed before they had even kicked a ball, knowing what was ahead of them.

Albion started poor, and never got going in the first half, Charltons 4-5-1 formation allowed 3 fast Charlton players, to go past the Albion centre-midfield like it wasnt there, with Carter, Inamoto and Chaplow not even in the squad, questions enter your head.

It all went wrong when Jerome Thomas beat Watson down the wing, Watson brought down the pacey winger inside the area, penalty. Danny Murphy stepped up and beat his former teammate Kirkland, from 12 yards. 1-0 Charlton after 9 minutes.

But Kirkland did show his England class, he made a world class save to turn away Murphy's header 13th minutes later. Soon after, Rommedahl made a run down the right, which was turned in by Murphy from 6 yards, 2-0 Charlton, booed echoed around the Hawthorns as annoyed fans made there thoughts heard.

In the second half Albion started well, and looked hungary for goals, as Kamara replaces Andy Johnson. Kamara was good, and made some good runs taking on 2 or 3 players, and Albion's pursistance payed off, in the 51st minute, Curtis Davis managed to get a flick on a header which was put into the area, on his home debut.

Charlton began to time waste, and started to play negative football, just after Charlton made a double subsition, in which they tried to cancel after the player had walked off the pitch, Albion had a few chances in which to get a point out of the game, but it just wouldn't come. A frustrating time, for the Albion.
