Abbey Glass Division 1

West Hallam 217-3 beat Morton 162 by 55 runs

It has been a great end of the season for West Hallam. Having overtaken Marehay they have strengthened their position at the top, and they are worthy Champions of Abbey Glass Division 1. James Chapman, a young player of great promise, finished the season on a high note, scoring 60, helped along by his captain Campbell Ogilvie who made 62 and Andy Bowley who was 30 not out. Morton were a tough nut to crack, especially when James Miller (72) and John Aspinall (48) were at the crease. When they were out the wickets began to fall, and with Danny Haddon taking 4-52 Morton were all out for 162. Only the top team can be promoted to the Premier League, but that team must demonstrate that its ground and facilities satisfy the criteria laid down by the League.

Shipley Hall 181-7 beat Belper Meadows 180-7 by 3 wickets

Shipley needed a miracle to overtake West Hallam, but their win against Belper Meadows confirms them in second place. Barry Dallas made 50 for Belper and for Shipley Neil Cox took 4-61. Zakir Hussain (62) provided the backbone of the Shipley innings, but it was a very tight finish, with Danny Brandrick hitting the winning run off the last ball of the match.

Marehay 141-1 beat Nutbrook 137 by 9 wickets

This is the sort of win that Marehay have been inflicting on their opponents for much of the season, and it came with another outstanding performance from their overseas player Arif Mehmood. He took 5-13 as Nutbrook were dismissed for 137 and then produced a hurricane knock of 90 not out off 36 balls

Elvaston 107 lost to Staveley Welfare 108-0 by 10 wickets

In many ways it has been a good season for Elvaston, but they will want to forget this drubbing in their last game. Tim Hoare took 6-32 for Staveley and Martin Camm raced to 70, assisted by 15 year old D Douglas (33 not out) they won without losing a wicket.

Lullington Park 178 beat Selston Town 152 by 26 runs

Lullington recovered from being 38-5 thanks to Steve Gough (51) and George Chapman (53 not out). For Selston John Barnett took 5-15 and scored 33 but it wasn’t enough. David Mudd took 5-40 for Lullington. Selston have ended second from the bottom, but avoid relegation because of a quirk in the rules which ensures that two teams are promoted.

Abbey Glass Division 2

Ticknall 220-8 drew with Ockbrook 2nds 232-9

Ockbrook batted first and were helped by a century from Raul Sharma (105). Ticknall were indebted to Luke Harvey (82) and Ryan Cowley (66). Ticknall have emerged as Champions of this Division and are promoted. Ockbrook gained 17 points which keeps them in fifth place and this has had the effect of denying Rolleston promotion. The rule states that eligible teams must be placed within the top five in the Division.

Duffield gain promotion despite losing to Alfreton. They bowled out Alfreton for 122, but were themselves dismissed for 114, thanks to good spells from Keith Clarke (5-34) and Matt Lineker (3-20).They are placed fourth in the table below Denby 2 and Sandiacre 2, neither of which is eligible for promotion to Division 1.

Rolleston 238-8 drew with Sandiacre Town 212-7

Rolleston batted well with good knocks from Sean Green (47), Chris Colley (39), Danny Rowbottom (46) and Ian Naylor (41). Sandiacre came close with Duncan Bembridge making 67 and Steve Brown 51. Rolleston needed two extra points to move to fifth place, but they ended in sixth place and are therefore denied promotion

Denby 2nds suffered their second defeat of the seasonbeing narrowly defeated by Allestree by one wicket, and relegated Brailsford achieved their first win of the season when they beat Aston on Trent by 90 runs. Little Eaton, the other relegated team, lost to Mickleover by 40 runs

Derbyshire Building Society Division 3A

Elvaston 2nds were confirmed as Champions of this Division following their win over Quarndon 2nds by 7 wickets. Also promoted with them are Alvaston & Boulton 2nds who ended the season by suffering a 6 wicket defeat at the hands of Rolls Royce, and Ambergate who completed their programme on Saturday.
