General Purposes & Disciplinary Committee findings

1. Stapleford Town CC and Melbourne Town CC were both fined 54 points, suspended until the end of season 2003, for breaches of the League’s Code of Conduct.

2. Alan Worth of Stainsby Hall CC was banned for two matches, in addition to the penalties imposed by his club, for dissent and verbal abuse of an umpire.

3. Littleover Centurions CC were fined the 22 points gained in their match with Rolls- Royce CC, for playing an unregistered and illegal player, and were fined £20. Rolls-Royce were credited with the full 27 points.

4. Rehman Aziz of Aston on Trent CC was banned until the end of season 2002 and for the first four matches of season 2003, for verbal abuse of an umpire.

5. Keith Roberts of Cromford Meadows CC was banned for three matches, with three more suspended until the end of season 2003, for dissent and verbal abuse of an umpire.

6. Mr R.Clarkson, Chairman of West Hallam CC, was reprimanded and warned as to his future conduct for illegal use of the League’s E-Mail network.

7. Langley Mill United CC were required to answer charges relating to two matches played by their second team against Rose Hill Methodists CC and Nutbrook CC when they played ineligible players and entered false names on the Result Forms. The following punishments were awarded against them:
Craig Ottewell, the captain of the second team, was banned for two matches, in addition to the penalties imposed by his club, and warned as to his future conduct.
All the points (18) gained from the games against Rose Hill Methodists and Nutbrook to be removed from the second team’s total, and both of the teams mentioned to be credited with the full 27 points.
A further 25 points to be deducted from Langley Mill’s second team total, making a total of 43 points deducted
Langley Mill United CC to be fined £100 (£80 +£20) under League rules for playing ineligible players in the two games, and a further £200, making it £300 in total.
In view of the grave nature of the offences Langley Mill United were severely reprimanded and warned as to their future conduct.
Adrian Marsh, who plays for Langley Mill in the Beechdale Saab Derbyshire Premier League, was involved in one of the incidents, but was deemed to be outside the jurisdiction of the Derbyshire County League. The facts of the case were sent to the Premier League.
